Nov 14, 2010

  • Latest installer was released at today with version number 1112. Main changes:
    • MADDE updated to commit 14c12d00deb848419b96e5ad5e566d500703c44f.
      • QEMU IA images updated to latest version.
    • An online installer is included.
  • I did some smoke test with it, while it has not been tested by QA yet.

Note: Bug #9028 has been fixed. The bug Cathy mentioned above has been filed as a new bug (#9746), which is not a blocker issue as Maurice pointed out.

Recent development since latest release

  • Built QtCreator with Microsoft Visio Studio 2008 instead of MinGW. This removed dependency to some mingw library, and made QtCreator faster.
  • Packaged MADDE into installer directly. While we created a NSI installer for MADDE, and the MeeGo SDK installer will call the NSI installer, which is slow.
  • Added descriptions for MADDE and QtCreator in the installer. Added two images in the installer.

Top issues

  • IA QEMU image/binary does not work properly. This has been described in several bug reports (#9736, #8881, #9029, #9037, #8882, #8944). -- Zhiyuan is working on this.
  • Help to sign the installer. -- AR for Bob (bug #9618)

Plan

  • Test the solution with real device (Aava, netbook) since the IA QEMU solution is not stable. -- AR for Peng Liu
  • Document on how the MeeGo SDK for Windows was built. -- AR for Max
