This is due to schedule conflicts with the effort that is currently open sourcing related drivers to Linux Kernel upstream. We will add support to those as soon as possible, and they will be available, at least development repositories and images will be, in the coming weeks.
There are two types of images available for N900. One that contains only open source software from MeeGo repositories and one that has some Nokia proprietary components installed. The open one is ideal, as an example of porting MeeGo to other devices. The closed image is the one that's most ideal for you to install to your device. See the documentation on how to install these images to your Nokia N900.
