Voice and SMS for Meego 1.2 N900 Developer Edition

Target to achieve better user experience when using N900 for voice calls and SMS

Communications

Meego 1.2 N900 Developer Edition will happen in open in meego.com. There is a project wikipage.

Project communications will mainly happen in public IRC and public mailing lists, and meego.com wiki. We do planning on meego.com wiki (eg. this page). Meego.com bugzilla will be used for bugs. We welcome contributions and participation from community.

This is an initial list of possible work items with related bugs, still under construction and priorization.

• Evaluating QML Dialer application alternatives - Aki

• Add SIM PIN query support
  • Enabling PIN query in oFono - Bug 14574 - REG N900 Verify PIN code failed
  • PIN query system service and UI to be launched at boot - Bug 13015 - There is not a PIN code request screen in UI

• NET status indications (missing features, some parts implemented) - Antti
  • To be checked:
    • Check that the context kit is using meego plugins (not maemo)
    • Check that indicators are using right properties from context kit
  • Should cover:
    • Network status vs. flight mode Bug 9870 - Trunk : Daily Flight mode icon is displayed although the profile is normal
    • Network signal strength indication
    • Operator name

• Voice Calls
  • App launch / autostart to support incoming calls - Bug 7074 - Incoming call can not be answered if dialer not open when call is received.
  • Offline state indication Bug 8559 - Normal phone call can be started from UI even without SIM card

  • Bug 14477 - [N900 Unexpected error note is shown while N900 swapping the active call and held call.]
  • Bug 14521 - [N900 Swapping calls doesn't work]

  • At the moment not possible as the apps use derived Application classes, which is incompatible with the approach
