Contents

Overview

Linux Foundation Collaboration Summit will be held April 6 - 8, and we will have a full day MeeGo Workgroup at the event. We did something similar last year: MeeGo Workgroup Agenda for LFCS 2010.

LF Collaboration Summit Event Logistics

  • Date: April 6 - 8
  • Location: Hotel Kabuki in San Francisco, CA
  • Details

MeeGo Workgroup Logisitics

  • Date: April 7
  • Location: Hotel Kabuki in San Francisco, CA

Content Overview

The purpose of this day is to provide updates and information about MeeGo. With the changes that are currently being considered and implemented for MeeGo, this is a great time to get the latest information, ask questions and work together to make MeeGo strong!

Content should be:

  • Mostly technical or relevant to MeeGo platform developers, application developers and other community contributors.
  • Relevant to a broad audience - we only have one track, so we won't be able to accommodate niche topics (save those for the MeeGo Conference in May).
  • Try to get a mix of presentations (65%-75%) and collaboration sessions (25%-35%)

Agenda

Please do not update. See LF site for final agenda with session abstracts and bios

  • 9:00 MeeGo Architecture - Sunil Saxena
  • 9:45 Using the SDK to create MeeGo Apps - Bob Spencer
  • 10:30 Break

  • 11:30 Build Cutting Edge Mobile Apps using QML and JavaScript - Rajesh Lal
  • 12:15 Lunch
  • 1:30 MeeGo and Distributed Computing - Mike Gee

  • 4:00 Breakouts: 4 simultaneous breakout sessions: Localization, Community Office, Application Development, TBD

Product Showcase Suggestions

5 or 10 minute talks or demos for people working on interesting MeeGo products or applications.

Extra credit for suggesting a person to present your product showcase.

  • Live demo of Transifex, the web-based, open source translation management tool we use for MeeGo (Dimitris Glezos)
  • Overview of community metrics dashboard
  • Ixonos will share information about MeeGo-related work presented at Mobile World Congress, work related to touch, and issues with multimedia on MeeGo.

Breakouts / BOFs Suggestions

Breakout sessions for teams or hot topics. These would need to be in 4 corners of the same room, so no projector or microphones can used. This would also need to be at the end of each day, since we'll need to rearrange the room a bit to accommodate.

Extra credit for suggesting a person to lead your breakout.

  • Localization session explaining the new langpacks for 1.2 and the new features of Transifex (Dimitris Glezos or Margie Foster).
  • Community Office - Dawn / Quim
  • Application Development - Bob Spencer
  • TBD

Please add additional, specific or new suggestions to this section

Extra credit for suggesting a speaker for your suggestion.

  • QtQuick for one of the Application Dev talks (suggested by Dave Neary on ML)
  • Metrics Dashboard Overview - Dave Neary (Need to decide if this fits into the community talk or is separate)
  • State of networking, connectivity, transition to ipv6, etc. (Maybe Marcel)
