Vehicle Context

In context of in-vehicle infotainment, the terms 'head unit', 'radio', 'module', and 'ECU (Electronics Control Unit)' are used interchangeably and refer to a individual device. This device is typically developed and manufactured by an independent supplier and delivered to the vehicle manufacturer for assembly. MeeGo IVI targets head units with a specific feature set that integrates a multitude of rich and integrated functions for audio, video, navigation, etc. Head unit is tightly integrated with other devices in the vehicle [1].
