Review minutes: A couple key people (OgMaciel, Dimitris Glezos) were not present, so the To_do list from March 5th is not completed. Frmarava from Nokia is willing to be a member of the L10n Steering Group—he also knows of a colleague who may be interested as well. We are still looking for community members (non-Intel, non-Nokia) to volunteer. [[Language specific working groups|Language teams]] continue to grow.

Increasing participation with other open source l10n groups: We had some lively discussion on this, most of it centering around how to contribute MeeGo-specific translations (which may be shortened because of the platform) to upstream packages. We ultimately tentatively agreed that a (meego) developer would mark MeeGo-specific strings with a certain comment, so that upstream wouldn't be bothered and MeeGo strings would remain in the MeeGo realm. Perhaps a coordinator is necessary who would talk to upstream to get the relevant changed strings and send them to the upstream project. We agreed that this wasn’t the forum for this type of discussion and agreed to carry it further on the wiki.

MeeGo Translation status: Margie reported that MeeGo strings are available for translation on translate.moblin.org for the immediate future. She had no schedule or string freeze date to report. There are 16 “priority 1” languages, which are at 100% for most of the translatable projects that comprise MeeGo. These languages and the translatable projects are listed here: http://wiki.meego.com/L10n_plan

  • L10n plan update
  • Transifex migration
  • Collaboration Summit
  • Increasing participation (contacting other community L10N groups, etc.)
  • MeeGo translation status
  • Next meeting

Review minutes: A couple key people (OgMaciel, Dimitris Glezos) were not present, so the To_do list from March 5th is not completed. Frmarava from Nokia is willing to be a member of the L10n Steering Group—he also knows of a colleague who may be interested as well. We are still looking for community members (non-Intel, non-Nokia) to volunteer. Language teams continue to grow.

L10N Plan: Margie started a L10n plan and welcomes comments/suggestions/edits.

Transifex migration: Although Dimitris was not present, he has sent his vision of the roadmap. Margie is working with the Linux Foundation to figure out the logistics for migrating translate.moblin.org to transfiex.net.

Collaboration Summit: Being held next month in San Francisco, there is a specific MeeGo Day on April 15: http://events.linuxfoundation.org/lfcs2010/meego-workgroup. Margie is arranging a l10n get-together, so if you are coming, please let her know.

These languages and the translatable projects are listed in the L10n plan

To-Do:

  • Davidecr: Send a message to http://l10n.gnome.org/teams/ about what’s going on with MeeGo l10n
  • Margie: post instructions for translate.moblin.org to wiki and mailing list

Carry-overs from 5 March meeting:

  • OgMaciel: Contact gnome l10n stakeholders inform them of MeeGo l10n team. Get information on how we can best work together. Report at next meeting (or post on the wiki).
  • OgMaciel: Send Margie a proposal on how to handle translations from other projects such as GNOME
  • Aesantos: Contact maemo l10n stakeholders and inform them of MeeGo l10n team. Get information on how we can best work together. Report at next meeting (or post on the wiki).
  • Glezos: Add OpenID support to Transifex.
