Summary and planning

The first meeting in Shang Dao Coffee

We have a quit nice chat on the meeting last Saturday afternoon. I'd like to share our discussions here. and Hope other participants could correct me or add more:) 1) the spot: Shang Dao Coffee, Zhong Guo Dian Zi Da Sha, and time slot is from 15:00 -- 17:30 2) participants: Liang Gaser, Yu Kuifei, Wang Feng, Man Zhiyong, and Wu Vincent 3) Gaser has shared his background and showed his interests in mobile application developments. He also mentioned that he has a group on QQ about application development years before and would like to introduce our mobile development community to that group. A discussion to pulling one of his friend, who is leading a ISV company, to the mobile development community has been conducted. Well done!

I've shared some news about MeeGo and my experiences on it, as well as discussing with others about the mission and vision about our community. I believe we all learned a lot on this. And I'd like to share more about this on next meeting:) Thanks all!

Wang Feng has shared the latest info gathered from the MeeGo conference held on last week. Copu (http://www.oss.org.cn/) is mentioned by him as he is maintaining some relationship there. MeeGo 1.1 and Symbian Foundation is discussed a lot.

Man Zhiyong, the most active member here shared his work experience related to Maemo application development. I agree his idea that other than waiting the API from middle layer, the application developer could give implementation proposals of middle layer. Thus the application developer leading/guiding the middle-ware developer and contribute to the middle-ware of the platform (I just got this sentence to my mind:)). He also got fabulous supports from NetQin for holding our meetings. Probably we hold the next meeting in NetQin, if they provide beer and skittles:)

Vincent, the fonder of DevDiv forum, gives quite good suggestions and many experience on development community related works. We got the interesting part about how to cooperate with local forums like DevDiv. While achieving common understandings, we also agreed on the next steps to cooperate with each other. Vincent also proposed to held next meetings in Sohu's meeting houses. They may provide rooms for free, plus their stuff on recording our discussion. Sounds cool, isn't it?

I would say Gerard partially participant this meeting by sending SMSs to the meeting:)

Thanks all!
