Media team

The Media team is responsible of

Core Media Team

There is a small team of people sharing a light layer of confidentiality to prepare announcements and marketing activities with MeeGo stakeholders. The members of this Core Media team have permissions to edit and publish content in meego.com and the @meegocom Twitter account. Media team's access to the MeeGo News system is managed via membership of the MeeGo Media Team Midgard group. They also receive the emails sent to media@meego.com (planned).

This team works through the meego-community mailing list and reports/tasks at bugs.meego.com. Confidential topics are handled via private mail involving whoever else needs to be in the loop. No big secrets are discussed here. No NDAs are to be signed. Any topics about the team itself are discussed in the meego-community mailing list.

Members

  • Quim Gil - coordination and MeeGo Community Office representation.
  • Jennifer Cloer - Linux Foundation media relations.
  • Jennifer Lyons - Nokia comms.
  • Suzy Ramirez - Intel comms.

New members can join the team via invitation, coming either from the Extended Media team or MeeGo stakeholders with high media activity.

Extended Media team

The Extended Media team is made of regular contributors following the MeeGo community channels and highlighting the remarkable news. Anybody can contribute, sporadically or on a regular basis.

Tasks

  • Write blog posts about remarkable news in a specific MeeGo community channel.
  • If you are a regular MeeGo blogger, have your MeeGo feed aggregated to http://planet.meego.com
  • Post MeeGo related news from a Twitter account using the #meegocom tag and short URLs
  • Follow the MeeGo search in Twitter and retweet relevant statuses adding the #meegocom tag.

Members Add yourself to the list below indicating your blog or Twitter account, and the MeeGo project channel you are reporting about. Make sure your blog is aggregated and/or your Twitter account is listed by @meegocom

@meegocom at Twitter

http://twitter.com/meegocom aims to be a channel forwarding the most relevant activity happening inside and around the MeeGo project.

PURPOSE

  • Retweet the most interesting statuses related to MeeGo
  • Reply interesting questions or comments addressed to @meegocom

PROCESS

  • Anybody can "forward" news by including "#meegocom" in the status.
  • Extended Media Team aims to cover all the community channels
  • Media Team members have all access to @meegocom
  • In most cases meegocom will simply RT what goes through the filter
  • Objective replies only (e.g. links to sources), neutral voice
  • Twitter best practice is to use shortened links - @meegocom will shorten the link if not already shortened.
