Marketing/Meego.com 1.1 update/Videos

From MeeGo wiki
Jump to: navigation, search

We need to produce videos showing the 1.1 release highlights in the different categories. They are like documentary videos supporting the release notes and screenshots, not marketing videos.

Quim Gil agrees the scripts with the release reviewers and Brett Branch produces the videos.

Contents

Common elements

Brett to decide on these details:

  • About 3 minutes for each video.
  • List of features to be covered. No final written script.
  • Intro including MeeGo logo + "1.1 release for <category>" (printed on top of the shot showing the booting process?)
  • Life voice / voice over?
  • Music yes/now?
  • Subtitles yes/no?
  • One shot / transparent cuts / labeled sections?
  • Display only / different perspectives?
  • End including MeeGo logo and meego.com URL

Netbook video

  • Hardware to be used?
  • Screen resolution?

Sequence of features:

  • Quim to find out with product managers etc.

Handset video

  • N900 only? Aava only? Both?

Sequence of features:

  1. Home
  2. Task launcher
  3. Web
  4. Audio
  5. Video
  6. Task switcher...
  7. Contacts
  8. Voice call
  9. Messaging

IVI video

  • Hardware to be used?
  • Screen resolution?

Sequence of features:

  • Quim to find out with product managers etc.

SDK video

  • Hardware to be used?
  • Screen resolution?
  • On top of which OS? Ideally MeeGo  :)

Sequence of features:

  • Quim to find out with product managers etc.

Rough ideas:

Qt Creator and QML should be imho the star. No idea whether the MeeGo SDK includes the emulator or something visibly attractive. Deployment to device via BT/USB is a nice thing to show too. A very nice shot would be to have ExampleApp (QML based ideally) deployed to Handset, Netbook and IVI. Maybe developer.meego.com could be briefly featured in the video? The URL could be printed for sure. Since we have 3 minutes max: No idea if Qt WebRuntime is in any condition to be shown. Not sure if we want to highlight too much MTF development.--Qgil 00:09, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

1.1 release video

First we need to decide the content of the videos for each category. This is also the most creative one, requiring most post-production.

We can skip it for the 1.1 release if we don't have enough time.
