MeeGo In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) Test Plan

Platform Summary

The MeeGo IVI software platform is designed to enable rich internet and multimedia consumer experiences for vehicles. MeeGo IVI builds on the foundation laid by Moblin IVI for rich multimedia, CE device management, internet, and automotive connectivity.

Meego v1.3, IVI gets 2 target platforms to be released together:

    • Crossville with OKI ML7213 IOH - A board with Intel® Atom™ E6xx Series Processor, OKI ML7213 I/O Hub.
    • Crown Bay - A board including Little Bay CE Module with Intel® Atom™ E6xx Series Processor, OKI EG20T I/O Hub

Considering the main difference between IVI and other MeeGo verticals lies in some specific devices and some special applications for IVI platform, our test will focus on the drivers for different IVI platforms and IVI specific applications.


Test Strategy and Approach

  • Level

For most of device drivers, we will focus on integration/user level checking, not the API level. Most of the cases are design for black-box testing, primarily for functionality and integration testing.

  • Coverage

Below components will be covered by QA validation: kernel/drivers, connectivity(eth/wifi/bt), graphics, IVI User experience including IVI home/taskbar, HandsFree, navigation, sample applications and system usage covering MeeGo middleware.

  • Priority

Since there are multiple platforms to be supported, and no-emgd and emgd build at the same time , QA will follow validation priority as below:

  1. Sanity test on all target platforms
  2. Full test on CrossvilleOKI
