This page is a brief insight regarding the suggestion for a new test cases management system.

Motivation

As of now, MeeGo Quality Assurance project on gitorious is the place where MeeGo community can get to know the existing testing material for a component whereas it is not the place where test cases are first created. In fact test cases are created on Testlink, the current TCMS for MeeGo but there doesn't seem to be a lot a activity on this tool.

Functionalities to consider

The tool to be chosen should allow the following actions:

• Import/export of test cases (from and to *.xls, *.xml formats for instance).
• Make test cases reports and charts based on any criteria (test area, test type, ...).
• Export test cases reports and charts (to at least *.xls format).
• Link test cases with their related feature(s).
• Link test cases with their related bug(s).
