Locations

Huelva, Spain (tentative location)

This has been tentatively identified as the November event site per Dawn Foster. An FYI for those coming from the US-- the closest American Airlines comes is Madrid, so those using that airline normally would need to choose another or see if they could arrange a flight from Madrid to Faro (Portugal) or as Quim has suggested, Seville (Spain). --Texrat 21:40, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

US

As one who enjoys traveling I would love to see the next summit anywhere outside the US. However, given the recent focus on Silicon Valley as the center for Maemo innovation, I think it makes sense to include that as a consideration. It also helps reinforce Nokia's claim that the US market is still important despite eroding share, and is in Intel's backyard. However, I added Canada as a candidate because passport/visa hurdles for many members will be less of an issue in that country. --Texrat 22:45, 12 March 2010 (UTC)

Location? I think there it is only one question..

Which are the top three countries, where the most current MeeGo (or better, former Maemo) developers are located? I think we should only choose from the countries with the most developers, to get as much as we can to participate the summit.

Anybody who knows this or can do some search on the Maemo website database? :)

Content

As this replaces the Maemo and Moblin conferences, is the aim to cater to existing users of those platforms as well as the growing MeeGo community? --Jaffa 21:13, 31 March 2010 (UTC)

I would hope so. And events need to strike a reasonable balance between catering to ongoing contributors as well as cultivating new ones. Toggling between well-established areas (eg, Europe) and areas with potential (eg US, South America, Asia, et al) every 6-month release might make sense. --Texrat 05:47, 27 April 2010 (UTC)
